Fishbone Diagram Excel Template
By popular demand, I have created a fishbone template that you can use to create fishbone diagrams in Excel. It’s a pretty simple template, but the bulk of the framework for the fishbone diagram is in place.
All you need to do is to select a given cause on the fish bone and type in the text that applies to your situation. I’ve put together two tabs with 6 P’s and 6 M’s, so you can fishbone in whatever manner makes the most sense in your situation.
Please enjoy.
Fishbone diagrams help you see the probable causes of a problem or occurrence in a structured way to offer a suitable resolution to the situation. Familiarity is important for every single entrepreneur or businessperson. When implementing Six Sigma system, this device helps to supply adequate reasoning for a resolution to a specific dilemma. The fishbone diagram can even be employed in order to expedite determination of appropriate strategies to get to the end result expected. This diagram is profoundly valuable.

Hello:
How might I obtain the excel template you refer to in your Fishbone Diagram article. I assume this is a freeware item? I’d like to try to use it here at work to demonstrate how this quality tool can be used. Thanks!

I’ll mail it to you. I hope you get some good value from the excel template. It’s a lot easier to do the work on a white board so you can move causes around and add further roots. When you’re done with the actual exercise, you can put the final work in the excel template and get your quality mojo rising.
